What is CBD oil?

CBD, or Cannabinoids are derivatives of the stalk and seed of the hemp plant. There are 85 known Cannabinoids found in hemp, CBD is the second most common behind Tetrahydrocannabinod (THC.) Unlike THC, CBD is a non-psychotropic. This means there is no affect on the individuals mental state when taking CBD.

 


What are the benefits of taking CBD oil?

There has been extensive amounts of clinical studies done on CBD’s positive effects on the human body. An example of this can be seen in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. They found in the Clinical trials that CBD worked well as an anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant (or anti-seizure agent) antioxidant, anti-emetic (A remedy for nausea, motion sickness, and vomiting.) CBD is also a viable anti-psychotic. These findings are only scratching the surface of what CBD may have to offer. It’s still undergoing numerous trials and studies to find out what other benefits it may have.


What are the side effects of taking CBD oil?

There are no known negative side-effects of CBD. Like any drug, the only thing to watch out for is interactions with other substances. CBD can inhibit production p-glycoprotien, an enzyme that aids in hepatic drug metabolism. Not to worry, it’s similar to what effect grapefruit has when taken concurrently with other medications. Always consult your physician before taking any new medication.
